Президент Серж Саргсян встретился с членами Общественного совета

Today, President Serzh Sargsyan held a meeting with the members of the Public Council. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotian. The President of Armenia and the members of the Council discussed mainly issues related to the area of education. President Sargsyan noted that meeting in this format, i.e. when attention is being focused on one or two critical issues, were productive. Such format excludes superficial approaches and provides opportunity to discuss issues comprehensively and present proposals.

“I believe that in the first quarter of 2011 we’ll try to recap our work and to see what we’ve been able to accomplish. From my side, I’ll try to present to you how I deal in my day by day work with the issues which raise yours and the public’s concern.

We have created the Public Council to receive a feedback, to take into consideration opinions of those segments of the society which are not represented in other elected or representative bodies,” President Sargsyan said.

Before commencing discussions on the main issue, the President of the Public Council Vazgen Manukian presented briefly activities of the Council in the last months, noting that meetings were organized with the representatives of different social groups, their main concerns were put down and discussed at the Council.

Referring to the issue at hand, V. Manukian noted that education-related issues are constantly held in the focus of the Council’s attention and taking into consideration their significance the educational processes in Armenia have been identified as a separate topic for discussions. At the meeting with the President of Armenia these issues were presented by the member of the Council’s Board for education, science, culture and youth and sport issues, chairman of the working group on educational issues Eduard Ghazarian. He also presented the proposals of the Public Council which suggest to decrease the load of the pupils’ and teachers’ assignments in the framework of the schooling process, issues of education administration and management, importance of educational TV programs, technical equipment for secondary schools, as well as problems of the teachers in the mountainous and border villages.

In the course of discussion, the Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotian answered all the questions raised by the participants of the meeting.

At the meeting with the President, the members of the Public Council spoke also about other issues which concern the society.Президент Серж Саргсян сегодня встретился с членами Общественного совета. Во встрече принимал участие также Министр образования и науки РА Армен Ашотян. Основной темой, ставшей предметом обсуждения главы Республики и членов Общественного совета, стали проблемы сферы образования. Президент счел продуктивными встречи в подобном формате, когда основное внимание концентрируется на двух-трех избранных вопросах, исключая поверхностный подходи и предоставляя возможность всесторонне рассмотреть обсуждаемые вопросы и представленные предложения.

«Думаю, что мы в первом квартале 2011 года попытаемся обобщить нашу работу и увидеть, что мы смогли сделать. А я попробую вам представить, как в своей каждодневной работе учитываю не проблемы, которые волнуют вас, наше общество.

Мы создали Общественный совет, чтобы обеспечивать обратную связь, учитывать в нашей работе мнение всех слоев общества, которые не представлены в других выборных или представительских органах», — сказал Президент Серж Саргсян.

До того, как приступить к обсуждению основного вопроса повестки, председатель Общественного совета Вазген Манукян кратко представил деятельность Совета за прошедшие месяцы, отметив, что они провели многочисленные встречи с представителями различных слоев общественности, узнали о наиболее волнующих их проблемах, обсудили эти проблемы в Совете.

Касаясь основной темы, В.Манукян отметил, что проблемы, касающиеся образования, находятся в центре постоянного внимания Совета, и, исходя из важности, для обсуждения выделены вопросы, касающиеся организации образовательного процесса в Республике Армения. Эти вопросы во время встречи с Президентом представил член коллегии комиссии Общественного Собрания по вопросам образования, науки, культуры, молодежи и спорта, руководитель рабочей группы по общеобразовательным вопросам Эдуард Казарян. Он представил также предложения Общественного совета, которые касались снижения загруженности учеников и учителей в рамках школьной учебной программы, проблем управления сферой образования, важности учебных телепрограмм, обеспечению технической оснащенности общеобразовательных учебных заведений, проблем учителей, преподающих в школах высокогорных и приграничных сельских населенных пунктов.

Во время состоявшихся обсуждений Министр образования и науки Армен Ашотян ответил на все поднятые вопросы.

На встрече с Президентом члены Общественного совета говорили также о других проблемах разных сфер, которые волнуют общественность.
