RA Foreign Minister Makes Speech at OSCE Standing Committee Session

RA Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandian partook today in the OSCE Standing Committee session in Vienna and made a speech on the organization’s agenda items, reforms in Armenia and the process of regulation of the Nagorno Karabakh issue. An official from the press, information and PR department of the RA foreign affairs ministry told that speaking on the OSCE’s role, Eduard Nalbandian mentioned that Armenia is ready to take an active part in the organization’s activity in any format, as well as promote the rise in efficiency of the OSCE activity in accordance with the OSCE objectives and principles.

As to the reforms in Armenia, Minister Nalbandian said the RA authorities are ready to support the steps, directed to the strengthening of democracy in the country, in accordance with the objectives, defined in the RA president’s speech of December 18, 2010. Those objectives are the deepening of democracy, active political dialogue and consecutive investment of European standards in all the spheres of the state, social and economic life.

In his speech, the foreign minister touched upon the process of talks over the Nagorno Karabakh issue, coincidence of the stances of Armenia and the international community, as well as Azerbaijan’s non-constructive stance. Afterwards Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandian left for Bratislava to partake in the extended meeting of the Visegrád Four foreign ministers.
