Yerevan is the World Book Capital of 2012
SOCIETY, Daily news | ankakh | February 9, 2011 14:25Yerevan was announced by UNESCO World Book Capital of 2012. The issues related to the proper introduction of the Armenian capital to the world were discussed during the meeting of Yerevan mayor Karen Karapetyan with the delegation of the National Association of Publishers.
The latter especially emphasized the importance to promote book spreading and the culture of taste for reading among the young people. Greeting the idea, Karen Karapetyan suggested to submit more precise programs which will be implemented in short terms in the result of thorough analysis. During the meeting the parties also exchanged the ideas concerning the organization of complex actions for 2012.
