Armenian MP proposes castration of pedophiles
SOCIETY, Daily news | ankakh | February 8, 2011 23:30Draconian laws must be applied to pedophiles in Armenia. Castration of pedophiles is international practice, the crossbencher Victor Dallakyan stated in Parliament February 8.
Armenian law is too lenient to pedophiles, which causes more child abuse cases in the country.
“In 2009, only three of the 18 abusers were imprisoned. The others paid penalties. By paying small sums they avoided punishment for grave crimes,” Dallakyan said. He proposed severer punishment for child abuse.
