Taron Margaryan had a working visit to some markets of the capital
SOCIETY, Daily news | ankakh | February 6, 2011 19:12Today the first deputy mayor Taron Margaryan had a working visit to some markets of the capital to learn the situation regarding the actions directed at illegal open-air trade prohibition and prevention, as well as to study the conditions offered to the salespeople in the functioning markets. As we noted before, the administration of about 30 markets in the capital were assigned during the working meeting in the City Hall taken place last week to provide the people engaged in the open-air commerce with places of work. At the same time it was instructed to put the markets’ territories in order.
The first deputy mayor instructed to set a tight and consistent everyday control over the sanitary and hygienic conditions in the markets. As a whole being satisfied with the conditions in the markets, the salespeople who came here recently, however expressed to Taron Margaryan their displeasure connected with the small number of customers. On their opinion the small number of customers is a result of people’s unawareness of the markets’ sites. The first deputy mayor on the spot assigned the directors of the markets to install in visible places advertising panels with directions and instructions.
The first deputy mayor asked the salespeople about the rents charged for the place and they answered that they had an agreement with the markets administration not to be charged with rents during the initial period. Besides, though the significant part of the people engaged in illegal open-air commerce have already moved to markets, there are still a lot of vacant places to be occupied. As you remember, the directors of the markets assured during the meeting held on the mayor’s instruction that they can provide more than 3000 trade outlets.
Taron Margaryan pointed out once again that the municipality treats decisively to illegal commerce and the process will be continuous. “There are enough places in the markets and if there is demand it will be satisfied as well, new mini markets will be organized”, noted the first deputy. During his working visit Taron Margaryan gave a firm instruction to remove the ice layers from the areas adjacent to the markets.
