Consistent attention to all the spheres of the city economy

The problems related to different spheres of the city economy were discussed at the working conference held in the City Hall of Yerevan on December 24. Referring to the new conception of transport management, the mayor of Yerevan Karen Karapetyan emphasized the importance of all those directions which should be included in the new conception. To regulate the work of the capital transport special attention was paid to the problems of car parking inventory, to the placement of video-cameras in busy segments of the capital, to elaboration of a new transport timetable, as well as to the problem of separating special parts for the vehicular traffic. Besides, the mayor noted that in the future in the sphere of public transport the preference will be given to buses and certain steps should be taken in this direction. Karen Karapetyan also instructed to continue the control over car parking inventory. Before the RA law “On local taxes on parking of vehicles” is accepted, the illegal car parking operation should be prohibited and short term treaties should be signed with those which perform legal activity. Referring to the problem of open-air trading prohibition and prevention process, the mayor assigned the corresponding structures to go on the process consistently. “There won’t be any illegal trading. We will continue this line”, highlighted Karen Karapetyan. It was pointed that January is a rather unfavorable period for trading and moving to small markets the salespeople will have time to get accustomed to the new setting. Simultaneously the mayor instructed to study the necessity of demand to organize new small market places.

At the same time it was noted that strict and consistent approach will be taken in the area of illegal constructions and land seizing. Referring to the program of social-economical development of 2011, the mayor said that the units responsible for each sphere of the city economy should have clear idea of their tasks and deeds and in case of necessity they are to be able to perform coordinated work with the business circles. The necessity of introduction of a new conception of education development in Yerevan was emphasized once again, and it was instructed to study it with the participation of the interested parties. The mayor instructed to submit observations regarding the correspondence of school headmasters to the requirements of school management right and the description of headmaster position. It was instructed as well to set tight control over catering in pre-schooling institutions. The mayor focused attention to the powers delegated to the heads of the administrative districts and pointed that when all those powers were out into operation, the heads of the districts would be expected both much responsibility and effective work. Karen Karapetyan proposed to set up small entertainment, business and culture centers in each administrative district and instructed the heads of the administrative districts to submit appropriate proposals.
