The volume of constructions in the center will decrease

A working conference took place in the City Hall which was chaired by the mayor of Yerevan Karen Karapetyan. Before turning to the main items of the agenda the mayor noted that on coming Friday a draft of proposals related to structure changes and additions in the City Hall will be submitted to monitoring of the Aldermen Council of Yerevan. The coordination of the powers of the City Hall and the administrative districts’ staffs was highlighted and it was instructed to take measures towards their decentralization. Turning to the items on the agenda the mayor of Yerevan spoke about the volumes of constructions in the center of Yerevan noting that they will significantly decrease. “Except the improvement of yard areas not any building permits will be given in the center, no constructions will be done in green areas. We will implement rigid policy in the field of  unauthorized and illegal constructions”.  Continuous control will also be fulfilled in the direction of illegal trade prevention. The Department of Transport was assigned to make an inventory of parking places and bring them to legal field. On the purpose of making the work of public transport effective and the passengers’ flows manageable it was suggested to elaborate a new transport conception. Besides, it was instructed to place video cameras in the busy segments of the capital.

Karen Karapetyan also turned to the management of the sphere of education and emphasized that the participation of at least two candidates must be provided at the competitions announced for vacant positions of school headmaster. “А defective system has been forming for years, when only working headmasters go to advanced training classes and receive certificates, as a result there is no competition and we constantly reproduce the same system and that is intolerable», noted the mayor.
The leaders of corresponding subdivisions were given instructions concerning more effective organization of budgetary arrears collection and regulation of work in several areas of the city economy.
