Armenian criminal boss not released on bail

Armen Kazarian (nicknamed Pzo) charged with cheating Medicare out of $100 million, will not be released on bail, the New York Post reported.

The judge conditioned his decision by the fact that “great deal of unexplained wealth” can help Kazarian flee the country.

The New York Post reported that Manhattan federal Judge Paul Gardephe noted criminal boss drives a $350,000 Rolls-Royce Phantom, owns $600,000 California home, has gambled at least $1 million in Las Vegas, and traveled abroad. Meanwhilе, he claimed that is just a used-car broker who earns $1500 a month.

The judge stressed that Kazarian’s ties with Armenia pose a serious risk he can run away.
