Azerbaijan sues Italian newspaper over article about first lady Mehriban?
Worldwide, Daily news | ankakh | December 12, 2010 13:38Azerbaijan filed a lawsuit against the Italian newspaper Il Foglio for publishing an article about the secret relationship between the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva.
The Italian newspaper will have to answer in court for false and defamatory accusations. Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from responsibility, especially if the words are pure deception and provocation, writes the “Vestnik Kavkaza”.
As NEWS.am reported earlier, Il Foglio, referring to the German diplomats, reported that First Lady of Azerbaijan Mrs. MehribanAliyeva holds secret meetings with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Berlin.
Rumors have it, during her tours Aliyeva holds informal meetings with a very powerful man, Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus, a country often referred to as “the last dictatorship of Europe”.
In Berlin, the romantic relationship between Azeri beauty Mehriban and moustached Lukashenko is an open secret. The relationship with Azerbaijan’s Lady seems to be more pleasant for Belarusian President than talks on oil pipelines with Russia.
The President of Belarus changed the Constitution to rule for life, but he seems to be concerned before December 19 elections, as Moscow has launched a campaign against him.
