Prior to the completion of the last round held in Turkey, the World Chess Olympiad among players under the age of 16 years, the Armenian team won the championship title. In the penultimate 9-th round Armenian chess team defeated Syria by 3:1and became inaccessible to competitors. Representatives of our country after nine continuous victories earned 28.5 points. The second place took the team of Russia with a score of 24.5 points. Armenian grandmaster coach is Arsen Yeghiazaryan. In the national team there are: Karen Grigorian, Robert Agasaryan, Hovhannes Ghabuzyan, David Shahinyan and Tigran Petrosian. We add that this is the second Olympic title, which receives Armenian Youth Team. In 1998 the members of our team Levon Aronian, Gabriel Sargsyan, Tigran Petrosian and Varuzhan Hakobyan became champions.
