Portrait of Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, written by Andy Warhol, sold at Christie’s auction in Amsterdam for more than 400 thousand euro, informs RIA Novosti news agency referring to AFP. As a representative of the auction house said Maarten van Dzhiyn, the painting was sold for 409,000 euros (about 530,000 dollars). He added that the owner of the portrait has become a Dutch company engaged in the organization of exhibitions. Portrait of Beatrix, painted by masters of Pop Art by Warhol in 1985, is a series of “Ruling Queen”, which also includes images of Britain Elizabeth II, the Danish Margarethe II and Swaziland Ntombi Thwala. According to van Dzhiyna sold by auction will be exhibited at the State Museum in Amsterdam.
