Summit of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) starts today in the Kazakh capital Astana. This meeting was the first at the highest level in 11 years.

The summit will take part, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. As expected, the head of the Russian Federation will announce the Russian position on how to achieve a new quality of mutual trust in Europe.

The summit is expected to attend leadership of the OSCE 56 member states and 12 countries – cooperation partners. In particular, it will arrive in Astana, Afghan President Hamid Karzai and representatives of international organizations, including the UN, NATO, EU, Council of Europe, CIS, CSTO. The agenda of the summit – the security issues, the problems of the CFE Treaty, as well as the objectives of the OSCE in the near future, according to RBC.
