Picasso’s Son Accused his Father’s Electrician of the Theft of More than 270 Works

Son of famous Spanish painter Pablo Picasso’s modernist sued a pensioner – a former electrician, who worked at the master for several years, arrogated to itself more than 270 works of the painter worth 60 million euro, informs RIA Novosti news agency referring to AFP.

The existence of such a “treasure”, consisting of previously unknown paintings, drawings and notebooks of his father, Claude Picasso learned only in September. This happened when it receives a request to write certificates of authenticity of these works of art appealed French elderly couple where the husband is a former electrician, a famous artist.

As explained by Pierre Le Gennek, a former electrician and all the masterpieces he gave himself the master of, houses and villas which he served for the past three years, the artist’s life. However, the heir to Picasso, this statement did not believe it, saying that his father never would “squander” in such quantities that on which he worked a lifetime.

As noted by the French newspaper Liberation, art objects date from the years 1900-1932, among them nine collages in the style of cubism, watercolor so-called “blue period”, gouache works, lithographs, as well as portraits of his first wife, Olga.
