The Official Visit of NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan in SAR

November 25 during his official visit to Syria, the delegation headed by NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan received the Grand Mufti of Aleppo ATS Badr al-Din Hassoun.
Welcoming the Armenian friends, Grand Mufti praised the visit of RA NA Speaker to Syria and said that the Armenians to the Syrian people – brothers and sisters. He described the Armenians as creating a people, but the Armenian community as contributing to the development and strengthening of Syria. In particular, Badr al-Din Hassoun stressed the invaluable efforts of Armenia to establish peace in the region and wished Armenia and its people prosperity and power.
Expressing gratitude for warm reception, NA Chairman Hovik Abrahamyan noted in particular the support of the Arab people in the tragic days for the Armenian genocide, the role of the Armenian community in establishing ties between the two countries and peoples, the construction of local Armenian churches, cultural centers, schools, contributing to the development of multinational and multi-religious civilization of Syria.
NA Chairman stressed that Syria – the best example of dialogue between cultures and religions, and religious tolerance.
The same day the delegation went from Aleppo to Deir Zor.
At the airport, the President of the National Assembly and the deputies met with the Governor of Deir Zor Hussein Arnus, local authorities and other officials. After a brief conversation on issues of bilateral interest, the delegation traveled to the Armenian church of Surp Naatakats (Sv.Muchenikov). The memorial of the Armenian Genocide Armenian parliamentarians laid wreaths and flowers, paid tribute to the innocent victims. NA Chairman and the delegation members visited the museum of the Armenian Genocide, examine the documents indicating the crime of the century, made a record in a commemorative book of the museum.
In the hall of the church held a meeting with representatives of the Armenian community, to whom a brief speech was made by Mr. Abrahamyan.
In the evening headed by the NA official delegation he returned to Yerevan.
