The Official visit of the Armenian Minister of Defence Seyran Ohanyan to Hungary
Official, Daily news | ankakh | November 24, 2010 16:48On the 23rd of November Seyran Ohanyan met Minister of Defence of the Republic of Hungary Dr. Csaba Hende. Taking into consideration the fact that in 2011 Hungary took the presidency of the European Union the discussions of the meeting were mainly focused on regional security matters.
ARM MoD Seyran Ohanyan and Hungarian MoD Dr. Csaba Hende signed an agreement on “Military Cooperation between the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Hungary”.
The two ministers agreed upon enhancing the relations in the spheres of defence reforms, military education and training, military history, and developing relations between military museums of the two countries.
ARM MoD Seyran Ohanyan visited the Hero Square of Budapest and paid homage to the Memorial of Unknown Soldier.
During the official visit Seyran Ohanyan will also have meetings at the Parliamentarian Defence Committee of the Republic of Hungary and at the Zrinyi Miklós National Defense University. The Minister will also meet the representatives of the Armenian community of Hungary; will put wreaths on the Armenian Genocide Memorial and the monument for Hungarian and Armenian soldiers of WWII.
The delegation headed by the ARM MoD will return to Yerevan on the 25th of November.
