Scientists have adapted the accuracy of genetic test that allows you to determine whether a person will live to a hundred years. It was below 100%, but much higher than that of any other research method.

Predict the prospects of any person in achieving an honorary longevity can only be up to 77%, say experts from Boston University. For this purpose it is necessary to analyze the genome. The presence or absence of specific genes experts selects the people who are not threatened by diseases, which increase the risk of early death.

The researchers analyzed the hereditary material, taken more than 1000 people who had already noted its centenary. None of the subjects revealed specific genes that lead to disease.

Sensational results of the study were announced about six months ago. Then geneticists said that they had created a universal test for assessing the potential longevity of up to 100%.

Today, however, scientists have decided to correct the information. They say that “a little heated.” In an analysis of more genomes, it was found that the accuracy of the test about a quarter below. Nevertheless, even 77%  is a stunning result. “Of course, this method of forecasting is far from ideal, but everyone has the right to have a young man to know what surprises may present its genome into the future. I think if you were told that up to 77% you can live without the magic of drugs to a hundred years, you become more attentive to their own health and the environment. After all, many people simply do not believe in its prospects. And young people generally believed that after 40 years of life and ends with “- says Professor Paola Sebastiani.
