Today it is obvious the need for speedy development of the Armenian society and the transformation of the political field. In the political field of Armenia is really overdue generational change.
For transformation, new approaches and to implement them need to attract professionals in the political and governmental system. However, political systems are characterized by secrecy and red tape that complicates and minimizes the possibility of introducing new people.
Speaking of new people, I mean new approaches, fresh ideas. Now since 1988 we have seen some of the same faces, replacing each other, creating a new force through permutations on a political platform, and so on.
This number can be ranked and the disposition of election fraud, and the most surprising thing is that popularly forgetting about the subconscious belief (albeit subconscious cannot forget), we are “obedient” go to the polls and vote.
Of course, participation in elections is a democratic civil law, and most important duty, but when taking part in elections, may exchange their prosperous life 5 years at 5-10 thousand drams, or are acting on principle of choice “the least of two evils”, then after you vote already not a democratic citizen, and probably just lose the right to high rank of the citizen.
After all, how can a person be a citizen, even if he does not realize the vital importance of the country’s political future and very important commitment the choice of those who are the future works.
In this context, there is a high probability of being deceived, and deceiving the political forces, citizens’ expectations do not matter, because voters are accustomed to very quickly forget the promises made to them by candidates.
Experiencing apathy to the needs of society political forces did not hurry to make moves to change the views of their constituents or to gain their trust: they will do it before the elections, so as a citizen, not a “citizen” and “memory” had serious problems.
What this shows – “professionalism” of the political forces or non-professionalism of the citizens as citizens? Different theories give different answers.
What is clear is that today those who come into politics in Armenia are guided by a bright feature of Oscar Wilde: “I love the political parties because they are the only place where people do not talk about politics.” In this case, they create problems not only for themselves not only the entire system, but also for the citizen, who, instead of developing civic consciousness, (after all, political ideology should have an educational function), ceases to be a “citizen”.
In terms of voter-candidate relationship and in terms of infrastructure development and there is no promotion: what can we say when the world entered the XXI century and we still play “Carousel” in the election, and even methods of fraud remained.
In the same context, on the other hand, the impression that our political powers confuse their political agendas with shopping lists.
It’s no secret, how our elected officials are in the parliamentary lists, thanks to their ideas of world-historical importance?, or high intelligence?. How can we engage in buying and selling of parliamentary portfolios in the situation of a real threat from Azerbaijan. This is unacceptable.
We must, at least in 2012, have more professional National Assembly because it requires the geopolitical challenges facing our country. We need a parliament in which meetings will not attend 20-30 MPs, but 131, legislators, not those who need to call and ask to attend meetings.
In general, we must create an atmosphere that policy would not deal with the adventurers who do not have any profession (university diploma, I think, cannot be proof of owning a specialty, given the state of our education system), and professionals who bring to the political arena new ideas, new approaches and new solutions to old problems.
