About a week ago through Amazon.com, we tried to find a British version published by the Russian publishing house “Swallowtail” “Big illustrated encyclopedia of geography.” It was found interesting and strange thing: Encyclopedia Britannica, first published Oct. 31, 2003, was reissued a few days later – on Nov. 3, 2003.

Internet version of the first publication can be read. There Armenia was represented without error, which allowed the Russian version (the only mistake here was the territory of Armenia: 12,000 square miles instead of 29.743) and the November publication of a version, which was reprinted Russia, and that it was available on the Internet. The impression is that this version is kept secret (we can also assume that the “left” edition).

In addition, the online encyclopedia in the search for the word “Armenia” there is no 236 page with information about Armenia, and the page with information about Azerbaijan.
Thus, we found the address of the author entries Cliff Gifford and sent him an email hoping to get answers to our questions. Unfortunately, the author has not responded to us.

By the way, owner of the Russian publishing house “Swallowtail” is a Russian oligarch Alexander Mamut. Believe that there is a need to clarify its origin.

“Ankah” is also going to send a letter to the Prosecutor General of Armenia with the requirement that charges be brought before a competent court against the British and Russian publishers. It is obvious that false information about Armenia, included in an encyclopedia, is detrimental to the interests of the state, and initiate an action to protect state interests in the competent courts in accordance with Article 103 of the Constitution, and Article 4 of the Law “On Prosecutor’s Office is part of the exclusive power of the prosecutor .

Recall that in the “Big illustrated encyclopedia of geography”, translated into Russian with the British «The kingfisher geography encyclopedia, noted that the major languages in Armenia, Armenian and Azeri, the main religions – Orthodox Christianity (Armenian Apostolic Church) and Islam: the Shia area.

In Encyclopedia of false information provided by the Karabakh-Azerbaijani issue. Pointed out the alleged 1988-89 between Armenia and Azerbaijan took place in an armed conflict over the status of Artsakh, in addition, Artsakh is presented as “historical territory of Azerbaijan, populated mainly by Armenians.”
