VivaCell-MTS Career Development Program presented at Education and Career EXPO 2010

 VivaCell-MTS, a subsidiary of “Mobile TeleSystems” OJSC, informs that the Company’s Career Development Program was presented at Education and Career EXPO 2010.

The Expo will be held from November 16 to 18 in the Moscow House cultural-business centre. The aim of the Expo is to provide information to schoolchildren and students regarding the whole spectrum of modern educational approaches and techniques, encourage creating new business relationship schemes between educational institutions, inform about most demanded specializations in the labor market, organize meetings between employers and job seekers, encourage state, private and public sectors to come up with new educational initiatives.

This expo is a good opportunity for the Armenian companies to  help the younger generation self-realize in the Motherland, stay and create value for the own country. With this aim at the heart of its daily operation, VivaCell-MTS has developed a unique Program of Career Development that helps students combine theory with practice, develop and use skills in a real working environment, and to experience the latest trends in the field of telecom technology through on-job-training,” said VivaCell-MTS General Manager at the opening ceremony of the Expo.  

Besides being the Expo general information sponsor, VivaCell-MTS also presented its Career Development Program. The Career Development Program covers the following aspects for students: Internship and Mentorship program, VivaCell-MTS Vocational School Sessions, Open Doors and Guest Lectures at Universities, Seminars for university professors and etc. The VivaCell-MTS Vocational School supports students in enhancing their professional education through training programs delivered by highly qualified VivaCell-MTS employees. Each school session is devoted to very specific professional areas and provides applicants with opportunities to advance in their professional skills.

“Supporting education stems from our value commitment – extending hands to the education body is extending hands to the future of our Nation. Planning our children’s education should be our priority as parents and citizens,” added Ralph Yirikian.

During the 1.5 years of the Career Development Program about 45 lectures for more than 4030 students were delivered by the General Manager of VivaCell-MTS, Memorandum of Understanding was signed with approximately 30 higher educational institutions, 19 Open Doors sessions were organized for more than 380 students and schoolchildren from Yerevan and the regions, 5 VivaCell-MTS School sessions were held in the premises of the Company, more than 147 students were hosted for internship in VivaCell-MTS respective units, and much more activities were organized for students.

VivaCell-MTS is one of those few companies where the people with special needs and their problems are given special attention and care. Nowadays there are over 37 people with special needs working with the Company, and the attitude to them can’t be described other than respect, dignity, equity, and humility.

During the opening ceremony of the EXPO 2010, in recognition of high-quality services rendered to the population of Armenia, VivaCell-MTS was awarded a special certificate of excellence.
