NA President Received the Ambassador of Germany to Armenia

November 16 NA President Mr. Hovik Abrahamyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Germany to Armenia Hans Jochen Schmidt.
Welcoming the Ambassador, the NA Speaker noted with satisfaction that relations between the two countries developed steadily in all directions, and praised the existing political, trade-economic and cultural ties, as well as programs implemented in Armenia by the German agency GTZ. Armenian-German cooperation is also important in keeping the European integration policy of Armenia. Hovik Abrahamyan noted the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation and greater interaction between the two countries’ parliaments, not only bilaterally but also at the multilateral level, in particular in the form of cooperation with the European Union. NA Speaker noted that Armenia has about 80 companies with German capital, and stressed the importance of increasing the representation of German business leaders in Armenia, which created favorable legislative field.
Expressing gratitude for the reception, Ambassador of Germany stressed the importance of further developing bilateral relations, strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation. Mr. Schmidt also believes it necessary to expand economic cooperation.
During the meeting there were also other issues of mutual interest.
