Prosecutor General of Gegharkunik region cuts down trees to expand its business
People, Daily news | ankakh | November 16, 2010 0:04On November 15, at 5:00 p.m. some people chopped down young poplars along Yerevan-Sevan highway, in front of a gas-filling station, built on the outskirts of Gagarin settlement.
The woodcutters told a photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan that they aimed to open a view to the gas station. They stressed the gas station belongs to Prosecutor General of Gegharkunik Marz Vahram Margaryan. The loggers stressed Armenian Ministry of Nature Protection gave them permission to cut down the trees and advised the photojournalist to delete the photos.
Local residents of Gagarin community said Prosecutor General of Gegharkunik Marz plants trees, whereas his people cut them down.
