Anti-Corruption Center was opened in Yerevan

“Holy Trinity” Church pastor blessing the Lord Esayi Artenyan today officially opened Advocacy and Support Centre (AAC). It was established three months ago, and fighting corruption against the emergence and development, protects citizens’ rights and interests.
“These three months of the Yerevan office of more than 500 citizens applied to a variety of issues, which we support in every possible way, but cannot fight alone against corruption, and deal with people’s rights, advocacy, without the cooperation of state and law-enforcement bodies, NGOs, educational institutions and the media,” said AAC’s leader, Senior Lawyer Marat Atovmyan.
Prosecutor General of Armenia Ashot Yesayan Chief of Staff, General Prosecutor conveying a congratulatory speech, highlighted the social partnership and expressed hope that the center of its activities will support the establishment of Armenia. Established and funded USAID MAAC Activity Program (MAAC) in Yerevan AAC will serves as a citizens’ complaints reception office, where corruption affected persons receive free legal assistance.
The center will now also raise public awareness and promote preventative work anti-corruption reforms, while the Government of Armenia in cooperation with the USAID Mission Director Dr. Chima Yatindere also highlighted the Centre in Yerevan, noting that the corruption problem, which relates to all fields and should to all concerned. ”
USAID-funded “Kasals end ASSOCIATES” company MAAC Activity Program provided funds of Armenia Young Lawyers Association by the Yerevan, Vanadzor, Kapan, Hrazdan Ashtarak towns and Advocacy and Support Center, and the Ararat Talin, Aparan, Gyumri, Ijevan and Yeghegnadzor cities Advocacy and Support Reception creates and operates within the framework of this year on August 1, launched in the aforementioned centers and receptions.
It should be noted that the AAC’s official opening ceremony was also attended by Armenia’s National Assembly, the General Prosecutor’s Office, NGOs and international organizations.
