Famous artist Edgar Dega’s canvas was found in New York auction 40 years after the fact of being stolen from the French museum. Sotheby’s auction house took it out of the auction when found out that the impressionist’s “Blanchisseuses souffrant des dents” “washerwoman” canvas belonged to the Louvre. Degan created this painting in 1871-1873 and at first it was stored in the Normand’s Gavr Museum, where it was stolen in 1973. Sotheby’s auction house estimated it from 350 thousand to 450 thousand dollars.
