Armenian voters of U.S. have always been active in elections

Executive Director of the Armenia National Committee of America (ANCA) Aram Hamparian said that the Armenian community of America, which consists of 1.5 million people, out of which 1 million is eligible to participate in elections, supports candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate irrespective of their party membership.
“The most important thing for us is protection of interests of the Armenian community and Armenia as a whole. We have 160 candidates in the November 2 elections in all states,” Hamparian told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.
He added that Armenian citizens of the U.S. are always active in voting and the upcoming elections are not exclusion. “Around 75% of the Armenian community representatives participate in elections throughout the country, out of which 50% are ANCA members,” said Hamparian.
The 2010 United States midterm elections will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2010. All 435 seats in the United States House of Representatives and 37 of the 100 seats in the United States Senate will be contested in this election
