The Prime Minister Participated in the Armenian-Russian Intergovernmental Economic Cooperation Commission’s 12th Session

Yekaterinburg today to start work in the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation, between the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation Before its 12th session held in the opening of the Co-Chairs, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan and RF Minister of Transport Igor Levitin, the private meeting. Welcoming the participants of the session, the Prime Minister thanked saing the Russian side of the governmental delegation of supporters for the warm welcome.

Committee Co-Chairs – press conference following the meeting, referring to bilateral economic cooperation, the head of government noted that among the issues included in the agenda, the participants discussed and adopted decisions on economic cooperation of Armenian-Russian Intergovernmental Commission in 2009. September 25, at the eleventh session of the protocol implementation process, and the legal framework of bilateral trade and economic relations between the current situation and development prospects of the state’s account of Russia’s debt repayment on the work of the enterprises transferred, fuel-energetic system, transport, communication and information technology, agriculture, humanitarian and environmental programs around cooperation.

According to Tigran Sargsyan, the Armenian-Russian bilateral economic cooperation is developing more and more “during the global economic crisis, Russia was among the countries which helped Armenia. We received from Russia a loan of $ 500 million to implement our anti-crisis program; funds were directed to the implementation of the disaster zone issues, as well as the form was given credit for small and medium enterprises, whose best move that helped mitigate the negative impacts of the crisis,” the Prime Minister said. According to him at today’s meeting 15 issues have been agreed, which will promote the implementation of bilateral programs. “They also discussed issues related to Armenia and Russia joint business projects,” said Tigran Sargsyan. He informed that Armenia is ready to “Mars” factory to establish a free economic zone in accordance with accepted legal norms, other investment projects. “Works on the “Mars” are being carried out with the “Sitroniks” company and our Russian partners about how it is exploited. Powers of Armenia have expressed their willingness to plant on the establishment of economic zone, which will enable new projects there to carry out. The investment before the end of the year all issues must be agreed,” said Tigran Sargsyan.

Referring to Nairit plant, the Prime Minister said that the plant main creditor is Interstate Bank, but because it is in the reconstruction phase and its goals and objectives become the main settlement character, it is preferable to transfer the loan to another bank: “In particular, “Nairit” creditors can be YEVRAZES Bank, or the Anti-Crisis Fund, which also makes large-scale investments. An appropriate instruction is given to Armenia and the Russian Ministries of Finance to discuss this issue and submit recommendations to us,” said the Prime Minister.

Tigran Sargsyan and Igor Levitin signed the protocol of the Economic Cooperation Armenian-Russian intergovernmental commission’s 12th session. In Levitin’s name, an intergovernmental commission on behalf of the 12-th session in honor of the participants an official dinner was given.

The head of government also visited the “St. Garabed” church. Tonight the governmental delegation led by Tigran Sargsyan will return to Yerevan.
