Embassy of Japan Organized a Reception in Honor of the First Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia in Japan Diana Aghabeg Abgar’s Heirs

October 18 at the Embassy of Japan organized a reception in honor First Ambassador of Republic of Armenia Diana Aghabeg Abgar’s heirs, his grandson Michael Abgar and grand grandson Deniz Abgar. October 17, marked the Armenian intellectuals, prominent public and political figure Diana Abgar’s birth 141-st anniversary. The staff of the Embassy of Japan had joined this mission, placing a wreath on Diana Abgar’s tomb in Yokohama where in 1937 concluded her mortal and was buried in the cemetery of foreigners.
At the end of the party Michael Abgar and his daughter, Deniz Abgar donated the Embassy archive material belonging to their family, together with Armenia Foreign Minister Hamo Ohanjanyan’s 1920. July 22 is the official letter dated copy of Diana Abgar on the title of Honorary Consul of Japan and the Government execuatour giving permission.
At the ceremony of placing a wreath, as well as the Embassy reception, the Japan-Armenia Friendship Association and members of the Japanese «NHK» and «Asahi shinbun» newspapers and journalists attended.
