The Coalition isn’t Agreed, and the Opposition is Indifferent

The first day of the four-day session of National Assembly, as was expected, officially released the post of vice president of “Prosperous Armenia” Party and Faction Arevik Petrosyan’s resignation request, but A. Petrosyan. But A. Petrosyan decided to speak with her colleagues in prior from the tribune before that which was a surprise to many people. She, in particular, expressed her gratitude over the three years in favor of the National Assembly’s regular activities, mutual respect for working together. “More than 16 years, I have been taking part in the construction, development and placement of management systems. I did not take part in National Assembly elections  for positions. Being elected MP, I was relieved from high state positio (the deputy chairman of the Council of Civil Service), which should govern until 2013. In the campaign took an active part in presenting the proposals, views on the provisions, which I also own in practice,” she said.

A. Petrosyan also stressed that, taking the position of vice president, conscientiously fulfilled its regulatory obligations within her powers, the opportunities given to her, sought to accomplish deputy speaker promises given while elected related to the state government sector, the National Assembly’s activities, women’s, children’s rights and other spectors, co-authored and served more than two dozens of legislative initiatives, introduced a number of written, verbal suggestions, debate on draft laws discussed in the National Assembly. “I have represented the Republic of Armenia, the National Assembly, a number of international delegations, foreign head of state meetings with representatives of international forums. This is all I made, and from now on as a Member of Parliament, I will also do the same in accordance with the principles of high responsibility and benefit, the benefit of the state and community,” she said.

After the speech, she left the hall. In response to reporters’ questions, she said that the next meetings of more normal way “will work, especially that a number of legislative initiatives has been put into circulation. A. “We have not made a specific decision, because this is an intercoalition problem,” said the ARF faction Lilit Galstyan, adding that in such cases each of them has the right to express freely his attitude by participate – not participate by voting.

 It should be noted that the candidate for vice president should be elected by vote of the participating members to receive a majority, provided that more than half the total number of the voting members participated, i.e., at least 66 deputies.
