End of an Era of Skinny Models
Women, Weekly news | ankakh | September 26, 2010 16:17
And what if on the podium went to women only in the body? And in the magazines would not be a single girl with a size smaller than 48-50-th? Would be changed from this, our idea of beauty in general and about her own body in particular? I think over time, without fail, because the average person of interest on 90% – a product of propaganda, and only 10% – an expression I own.
For the past fifty years we hammered the fashion of anorexics. Be beautiful in the 60’s meant to weigh 40 pounds and look like a miniature teenage girl Twiggy (parameters: 80 x 55 x 80). In the 70’s in fashion was unhealthy beauty of hippies and miniature Liza Minnelli. In the 80’s aerobics queen Jane Fonda made millions of women run to the gym and wear down a diet. And with 90 of humanity together obsessed with long-legged girl without any parameters 90-60-90, which soon becomes more transparent, fainted at the podium and even died from anorexia. Needless to say, these exemplars of beauty effects on mental health and the health of the rest of the female population. To give just one example: my seven-year old niece announced that sits on a diet: abandoned buns and sweets, and all his free time devoted to, to cut pictures from magazines glossy divas and carefully paste them into the questionnaire. There was a feeling that this madness will never end.
But the world is changing. And the beauty is also changing. And it looks like we have lived up to those incredible days when fashion turns its face to the woman and begins to be democratic. This is indicated by the following facts.
At the upcoming Fashion Week in New York on stage for the first time will come complete models with sizes ranging from 48 and above. “This parade of modes can be considered as final recognition of the fact that 62% of American women – full of women” – said Nancy Le Winter, director of onestopplus.com, selling clothes for big girls.
More and more designers create a collection of large sizes and display on the podium puffs. Among the defenders of women’s plus sizes as large ladies delicately called in America: a designer Armani, confessed that he loves curvy shapes, Marc Jacobs, who promised to create a collection of large sizes. Mark Fast, issued the plump models on the podium in London last year.
And as Russian designers Chistova & Endourova, a parade fat women last fall under Russian Fashion Week. “The full can dress sexy, look good and be stars on the podium!” – Then said Marina Endourova.
Anorexic model fell into disfavor. The first country to ban very skinny fashion models, was Italy. Designers are strongly encouraged to include in their collections of clothes normal size: 46 or even 48.
On the covers of glossy magazines began to appear real girls: with folds of fat, stretch marks, cellulite and other amenities. The most glaring example – a naked picture Lizzie Miller, the magazine Glamour, the audience for a few months discussing her distended abdomen and folds.
Just think how easy it was to hit the public – enough to show them the body of a woman now! Never mind, let accustomed.
There wasfirst supermodel-bbw. The first black plus size model Tokkara Jones.
Belgian opera singer and model Karen Vermeer.
Crystal Renn began puny little things, but then spat, sat down on bagels and gained worldwide fame.
Are not they lovely?
The most beautiful woman of the Earth for the first time in history is not recognized as Angelina Jolie and busty Christina Hendricks (according to Esquire).
Men around the world are going crazy from her neck, and the figure Jolie recently are too skinny. A healthy body is replacing the haggard cachectic.
In Manhattan this summer for the second time was Fashion Week for the full – Full Figured Fashion Week.
Women with a plus size is no more problems with the choice of clothes, they discovered the mass of Web sites and online stores.
Should I rejoice? I think yes, but within certain limits. After all, except for anorexia, the world is another tangible problem – obesity … How great aunt on the podium is not served us a bad example.
