The Azerbaijani side published news, according to which the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia started diversion today in the morning and suffered a loss of two soldiers, does not correspond to the reality. ‘Just the opposite,’ RA Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan said at today’s briefing.

‘The Azerbaijani side is spreading false news. RA Armed Forces are currently operating in safe conditions and are doing their duty of defending the homeland. Though sometimes diversion-spy activities are being started, our trench guards give proper response to them. By this Azerbaijan again displays its true image,’ Seyran Ohanyan added.

Attempt of diversion was made at 6.30 a.m., August 31 against one of the Armenian military points, located near Upper Chailu village – in the north-eastern direction of the contact line between the armies of Azerbaijan and Karabakh. The Armenian trench guards authenticated the advancement of the special units of the opponent, undertook corresponding measures and threw out the opponent. The opponent suffered losses. Radik Tovmas Manaseryan, private soldier of RA Defense Army, born 1991, was wounded during the action.
