UN House Opens its Doors to Art Exhibition dedicated to International Year of Youth

Arts exhibition promoting peace, dialogue and friendship and dedicated to the International Year of Youth was open today in the UN House. 

Two Armenian painters Armen Proyan and Vahagn Avetisyan presented more than 30 works for the general public at the exhibition organized by the UN Department of Public Information Office in Armenia under the theme “Dialogue and Mutual Understanding”.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, “The energy of youth can be of a great value.  I am regularly inspired by the good will, talent and idealism of the young people. They are making important contributions to our work”.

Maria Dotsenko, UN DPI Representative said: “Art is an important instrument which brings people closer and helps them to understand each other better.  These bright pictures without words tell us about peace, love, dialogue and happiness. This is already a tradition for UN House to open its doors to exhibit art.  This opportunity not only motivates artists but empowers them.  Also in this way Armenian public can learn more about UN values”.

The exhibition will be open for public access during two weeks until September 10, 2010 from 12:00 till 15:00.
