Hamid Baghai Speaks on Armenian Genocide

Hamid Baghai, vice President of Iran and chief of Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization, recognized the Armenian Genocide with the statement, he made August 25 during the ‘Iran: Bridge of Victory’ conference. Speaking on the losses, Iran suffered during the World War II, he mentioned that the issue should be followed legally. Armenpress reports, citing the IRNA Iranian news agency, that in response to a reporter’s question on up-to-datedness of the surveying of the losses in WW2, Hamid Baghai said that such issues are currently being touched upon in the international community by various states.

He mentioned about the recent complaints of Japan, as well as other such examples. ‘The authorities of the Ottoman Turkey committed genocide 1915 against Armenians; though the Ottoman Empire does not exist any more, the Armenians demand of Turkey to apologize officially and pay compensation,’ he said.
