Аgarac Copper-Molybdenum Combine continues to increase the production of copper-molybdenum concentrate

For the 6 months of 2010, “Agarac Copper-Molybdenum Combine” CJSC (ACMC) compared with the volumes of production for the second half of 2009 increased the production of copper concentrate at 12.29% and molybdenum concentrate at 2.4%. Production volumes were 15,159 tonnes of copper and 254 tons of molybdenum concentrate. Press-service of the group of companies GeoProMining in Armenia told Armenpress.

According to the source, only the first half of this year was 1487 596 tonnes of ore were extracted and 1445 634 were processed. During the reporting period, the volume of stripping operations amounted to 956,712 cubic meters, which is higher than the targets for stripping operations by 63%.

The company reminded that from January to June 2009 ACMC did not carry out production activities. However, in the second half of last year the plant processed about 1.3 million tons of ore. As a result of processing was obtained about 248 tons of molybdenum and 13,500 tons of copper concentrate.

Currently, the plant is in the process of implementing the investment program aimed at re-equipment of the deposit and reconstruction of the plant. From an economic point of view, the reconstruction project will increase the extraction and processing of ore from the current 3 million tonnes to 3.5 million and reduce by 10% the self-cost of production.
