The Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan has accepted the delegation, headed by the director of the regional department of the economic policy of Europe and the Central Asia of the World Bank Luka Barbone today. The head of the Armenian office of the World Bank Aristomene Varudakis was present at the meeting.
The delegation has arrived to Armenia to participate in the forum, organized by the World Bank, concerning migration and remittances.
Welcoming visitors, the Prime Minister has highly appreciated the three-year activity of the head of the Armenian office of the World Bank Aristomene Varudakis and has thanked him for the joint productive work.
In the course of the meeting the interlocutors have discussed the cooperation course between the RA Government and the World Bank and the further problems. Tigran Sargsyan has presented the nowadays condition of the economy of Armenia and the basic calls, which have arisen owing to the crisis, in particular, having underlined the necessity of the diversification of the economy, the formations of the favorable investment environment, the maintenance of equal competitive conditions and he has told about the measures organized by the RA Government in these directions.
The parties have noted the priority of the modernizations of the governmental management system, in particular, of the realization of tax and customs reforms. The director of the regional department of the economic policy of Europe and the Central Asia of the World Bank Luka Barbone has confirmed the readiness of the World Bank to assist in the realization of reforms.
