The problems connected with the increase of the level of the Lake Sevan have been discussed in the government

The consultation connected with the increase of the level of the Lake Sevan took place, which was headed by the Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
Aram Harutyunyan, the Minister of Environmental Protection presented the dynamics of the increase of the lake level 2002-2010: per year on average 0.36 m. He reported that according to the schedule suggested by the Committee of issues of the lake Sevan beside the President of the RA it is submitted, that within 23 years, from 2009-2031, the lake level will be risen 4.65 meters, each year on average 15-20 cm. But because of the progressive increase of the water level some problems are causing. In order to solve these problems by the order of the President of RA, the Committee of Lake Issues, the Ministries of Urban, Environment, Transport, Communications and Energy, Natural Resources’ Minister working groups were created to study the long-term picture of the increase of the lake level and the necessity of the actions and volumes.
The president of the Committee of the lake issues Vladimir Movsisyan presented the current situation by the increase of the water level of the lake and ways to solve the problems.
Summing up the opinions voiced during the consultations and the recommendations, the Prime Minister gave instructions to all ministries and agencies to submit their current field problems and their proposed solutions in writing form within one week.
