Eve Rivas won the 7-th place in “Eurovision – 2010”

At the song contest “Eurovision – 2010” the representative of Armenia won the seventh place with her song called “Apricot Stone”.
In the final of the contest which took place late at night on Saturday Eve Rivas was the 21st. As well as in a semi-final two days ago, this time the singer appeared at the stage with the famous duduk-player Jivan Gasparyan.
The representative of Germany 19-year-old Lena Mayer-Landrut with her song called “Satellite” won the first place at the contest. On the second place was Turkey, on the third – Romania, on the fourth – Denmark, on the fifth – Azerbaijan, on the sixth – Belgium.
In the list of leaders Armenia was followed by Greece, on the ninth place was Georgia, the top ten was closed by the Ukraine.
At the song contest “Eurovision – 2010” 39 countries, from which only 25 had passed to the final, took part.
At the press conference, which took place on Friday, Eve Rivas mentioned, that a difficult fight was expected in the final. “My competitors are very strong, and the final will be very difficult. I think it will be a real fight”, – the singer told.
Armenia in the fifth time participates in the song contest Eurovision. Sirusho had the best result – in 2008 with her song called “Qele-Qele” she won the fourth place. Twice Armenia won 8 place, and once – 10.
As well as last year, this time points of competitors were counted up proceeding from estimations of jury and results of voting of spectators by a principle 50:50. In the first years of participation in the contest Armenia received high points from many countries – France, Greece, Cyprus, Belgium, Switzerland, however after the introduction of new system, low or average points are received.
The direct teleether of “Eurovision” could be seen on the big screen in the centre of Yerevan in the neighbourhood with Swan lake.
