The Armenian young weightlifters outstripped the representatives of Turkey and Azerbaijan.

In the European youth weightlifting championship, taken place in the city Valencia in Spain, the Armenian anthem was sounded second time in honour of the victory of Armenian representative and our flag was arisen. Vladik Karapetyan was noticed in the competition of 62kg weight category. He lifted 107kg, then a 112kg bar in the jerk. But when being aggravated 3killos our sportsman couldn’t lift it. The result was that Vladik won the third place and got the bronze medal. But in the push he was the best. First he lifted a 136kg bar, then 141kg, and so became the champion of not only this exercise but also of the championship with the result 253kg. By the way Vladik outstripped the representative of Azerbaijan by 1killo. And the third place won the representative of Turkey Emre Bukunlu. The second representative of Armenia in this weight category Vardan Militosyan won the sixth place with 235kg. In the girl championship the silver medal won Izabella Yalyan. The 15-year-old weightlifter won the second place with 163kg in the 53kg weight category. The representative of Belorussia Aliona Chichka outstripped her by 12killos.
