Meetings of US Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Michele Flournoy with the Azerbaijani authorities

Yesterday the US Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Michele Flournoy held meetings with Azerbaijani leadership. She met with minister of foreign affairs Elmar Mammadyarov, president Ilham Aliyev and minister of defense Safar Abiyev.
According to press service of Ministry of foreign affairs, during the meeting of Elmar Mammadyarov and Michèle Flournoy, the sides discussed the bilateral cooperation as well subjects of regional and global security. According to Michele Flournoy, USA appraises the Azerbaijan’s support on direction of ensuring the peace in Afghanistan. Azerbaijan collaborates with USA in different spheres, said E. Mammadyarov.
Ilham Aliyev has received the delegations led by US Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Michele Flournoy too. According to press service of the Azerbaijani president, the different aspects of bilateral relations between USA and Azerbaijan were discussed in the meeting.
Flournoy met also with Safar Abiyev, defense minister of Azerbaijan. According to press service of Ministry of Defense, they discussed the military political situation in South Caucasus and the tensions of Nagorno Karabakh in the region.
