Raffi Hovannisian Meets President of Bundestag
SOCIETY, Daily news | ankakh | March 7, 2013 13:28Raffi K. Hovannisian today met with Norbert Lammert, President of the Bundestag, the parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany. During their one-hour meeting, Hovannisian and Lammert discussed the extraordinary situation created inArmeniaafter the February 18 presidential vote.
“The will of the Armenian people must be respected,” Hovannisian said, “and in view of its own track record of facing its own history of genocide and becoming a leader in the democratic world, the Federal Republic of united Germany, instead of supporting authoritarianism and fraudulent elections, might respect the democratic movement and the clear-cut will of the people expressed on February 18.”
