The President Serj Sargsyan received today the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court at the Hague Luis Moreno-Ocampo. He arrived in our country to participate in the work of the 37th Congress of the International Federation of Human Rights.
Welcoming the guest, the President Sargsyan said, ‘the protection of Human Rights and the rich experience and work of the people who pronounce judgments on crimes against humanity are very important for us.‘ He also added, ‘It is especially the case that nowadays it is often spoken about one of the most crimes the Armenian genocide.’ The Prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo that his work is directed to the protection of the Human Rights and one of the main goals is the prevention of the future crimes of genocide.
The President of the Republic and the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court at the Hague discussed the possible routes of cooperation including the discussion of the ways how Armenia can be better protected.
