A year after the Costa Concordia cruise ship sank off the coast of the Italian island of Giglio, a major salvage operation is under way. Thirty-two people died when the liner, twice the size of the Titanic, hurtled into rocks on January 13, 2012. Workers will attempt to stabilise the wreck before floating it and towing it to a port for dismantling.
