The President Sargsyan welcomed the visit of the famous group to the Republic of Armenia and he noted that it is a very special event for the music fans. While addressing the musicians, Serj Sargsyan said he does not doubt that the performances of the band usually take place at fully packed concert halls and in a warm environment. He said that in Armenia they would notice other warmth too. Apart from the fact that the talent is warmly welcomed here, they will witness a true appreciation. We are the people who are capable of appreciating and we remember with gratitude that you were beside us at the time of the devastating earthquake in 1988.

The President expressed his gratitude to Jon Din for uniting the famous musicians at that difficult for us time who thereby contributed to healing the wounds of Armenia resulting from the disaster. ‘You brilliantly performed that difficult task,’ stressed the President Sargsyan.

‘We are glad and happy that we were able to make our modest contribution,’ said the rock stars. Ian Gillan said that he would never forget his visit to Spitak twenty years ago and that he is happy to be able to bring his music to them today.’

Addressing the concert in Yerevan, Ian Gillan and Jon Din expressed their delight in the performance of the State Philharmonic Orchestra and they were nicely surprised at finding out that both the young and the adults were equally enjoying the music. The President of the Republic and the renowned musicians also spoke about the work carried out within the framework of the program ‘Rock Helps Armenia.’

‘We will always be happy to welcome you in our country,’ emphasized the President Sargsyan.
