The man who reportedly hacked into the email accounts of numerous stars including Scarlett Johansson and Mila Kunis has been sentenced to ten years in prison.
Christopher Chaney pleaded guilty to charges of wiretapping and unauthorised access to a computer. As well as a 10-year prison sentence, the US District Court Judge S. James Otero ordered the 35-year-old to pay $66,179 in damages according to the L.A. Times.
He is believed to have hacked the accounts of up to 50 people as well as leaking nude pictures of the ‘Hitchcock’ star who was then married to Ryan Reynolds.
Speaking to CNN about the episode Johannsson said in an interview last year: “Just because you’re in the spotlight or just because you’re an actor or make films doesn’t mean you’re not entitled to your own personal privacy. No matter what the context, when that is sieged in some way it feels unjust, it feels wrong.”
