The Talin Division of the Police has checked the facts mentioned in panorama.am website’s article headlined “Bribe is distributed in Talin” and found out that the report on the bribe being distributed by Talin village chief was not confirmed.

In particular, on 3 May, 2012 the Aragatsotn Prosecutor’s Office tasked the Talin Division of the Police to check the facts mentioned in panorama.am website’s article headlined “Bribe is distributed in Talin”. According to the article the head of the pre-election headquarter of the candidate Mkrtich Sapeyan running for Polling station 15, which includes Talin town and some villages of Aragatsotn region, Hayk Atanesyan informed the journalist of the panorama.am website that the village chiefs distribute bribe on behalf of the Republican Party of Armenia and its candidate.

During the preparation of the materials Hayk Atanesyan has stated that he heard about the bribe during the meetings with the citizens but nobody had applied to him personally and informed about concrete case of bribe. He informed the journalist about it during a telephone conversation and told the journalist that he had heard this news on the level of conversations. H. Atanesyan has also mentioned that he applied to the villagers and asked them to provide concrete facts about bribe but they did not possess such information.

The heads of Dashtadem, Davtashen, N. Sasnashen, N. Bazmaberd, Partizak, Karmrashen, Akunq, Ddmasar, Kanch, Hako and Zarinja communities of Talin region have mentioned in their explanations that they did not suggest bribe to anybody in their communities and the pre-election campaign was conducted pursuant to the law established order.

The Talin Division of the Police has undertaken operative-intelligence measures to check the mentioned information and no cases on bribe have been revealed. It has turned out that this information does not correspond to the reality.

Thus, it has been found that the Republican Party of Armenia did not distribute bribe in Talin region and the facts mentioned in the article of panorama.am website are not real. Hence, in the mentioned case no crime has been committed.

A decision has been made to dismiss the initiation of the criminal case according to the Point 1 of the Part 1 of the Article 35 and Article 185 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia.
