Republican Party of Armenia to back Sedrak Saroyan’s candidacy

The Republican Party of Armenia discussed at the March 13 sitting of the executive body of the party the issue of candidates nominated in the majority system. Speaking to Armenpress, press secretary of the party Eduard Sharmazanov said the discussions over nomination of candidates in majority system still continue. “According to preliminary information, we will have our candidates in 33 electoral constituencies, and in the rest ones we will defend other candidates,” Sharmazanov said.
He said Ruben Hayrapetyan has refused to be nominated in the majority system, preferring to be fully engaged in his activity in Armenia’s Football Federation. Instead of him the dean of the history faculty of Khachatur Abovian Pedagogical University Edik Gevorgyan will be nominated.
Speaking about nomination of Sedrak Saroyan in N 19 constituency Sharmazanov said if other candidates will be nominated there, the RPA will back Sedrak Saroyan, member of RPA’s faction.
The sitting of the executive body of the RPA will take place by the end of the week, but the exact day is not specified.
