Initial operative results of population census in Armenia known

According to the initial operative figures of the 2011 population census in Armenia, 3 million 285 767 people have been registered. The initial operative figure of the existing population made 2 million 871 509 people, chairman of the National Statistical Service of Armenia Stepan Mnatsakanyan told a news conference February 7.
According to him, the number of permanent population will be specified after encoding, registering all the questionnaires. All this work will be completed in October 2012.
Mnatsakanyan said the final results of the population census will not differ much from the operative figures.
During the last population census, conducted in 2001, the initial operative figure of the registered population made 3 million 458 303 people and the initial operative figure of existing population made 3 million 002 598 people.
