Head of Armenian Public Council not wishing to be MP

YEREVAN. – Head of Armenian Public Council and off parliamentary National Democratic Union Party (NDU) Vazgen Manukyan does not want to be an MP. Moreover, learnt of his candidacy from media, he himself rejected it in the interview to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Some media outlets claimed he would run in the elective district, currently represented by Armenian President’s brother, MP Sashik Sargsyan.

“I leant on my candidacy from media. I have no intentions to be an MP. Why they decided that I want to be one? Even if the NDU participates and we gain seats in the Parliament, I will quit,” Manukyan said.

NDU has not decided on participation in the parliament elections yet.
