US Embassy Yerevan refuses to issue visa to Armenian oligarch and MP

YEREVAN. – Armenian oligarch and MP of the governing Republican Party of Armenia Samvel Aleksanyan periodically applies to the US Embassy in Armenia in order to receive an entrance visa, but his is continuously rejected.
Samvel Aleksanyan himself informed about it the reporter ofArmenian News-NEWS.am adding that he still has not received a visa. Aleksanyan does not know the reason of the refusal.
Armenian News-NEWS.am asked the US Embassy to comment on the issue. The representative of public affairs office of the US Embassy Taguhi Jahukyan informedArmenian News-NEWS.am that they do not provide information concerning visa cases. Concerning the possibility of Aleksanyan receiving a visa in the future Jahukyan said the following:
“I have to repeat myself: we do not give any information on visa cases, therefore it will be difficult to answer any questions.”
