US embassy calls on American citizens to avoid places of opposition rally

YEREVAN.- U.S. Embassy in Armenia called on American citizens to exercise caution and avoid the downtown area during the rally and march of the opposition’s rally scheduled for Friday in Yerevan.
“We remind U. S. citizens that even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and possibly escalate into violence without warning. You should avoid the areas of demonstrations if possible, and exercise caution when in the vicinity of any demonstrations. Stay current with media coverage of local events and be aware of your surroundings,” the message reads.
