Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said on Monday President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will surely visit Armenia in near future.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran and Armenia enjoy friendly relations and good neighborliness and authorities of the two countries are continuously in contact,” Mehmanparast said.
He added the trip of Iranian President will come in another time since it takes more time to arrange and finalize the documents that are to be signed during the trip between the two countries.
Ahmadinejad was officially invited by his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan.
Ahmadinejad’s travel was a follow-up to that of the Armenian President to Tehran.
The scheduled trip was postponed.
