SOCIETY, Daily news | ankakh | April 16, 2011 9:10The issues related to the possible cooperation in the sphere of social housing have been discussed during the meeting of Yerevan mayor Karen Karapetyan with the members of the Council of the National Social Housing Association. Noting that social housing is a problem typical for big cities, a member of the Council of NSHA Henk Vestran submitted to the mayor the social programs implementing by the association, the goal of which is to assist the families of low and middle incomes in the issue of purchasing a flat.
Emphasizing the necessity of social housing Karen Karapetyan noted that the municipality carried out the registration of the residents of emergency houses and elaborated the program of social housing fund. As a solution the program provides to make residential the administrative buildings which are not used at present. In this direction the municipality selected several investment options which will solve the important problem of providing people with homes and will stimulate the housing market as well.
“In this regard the municipality is ready to discuss any investment program”,-said the mayor. Evaluating the mayor’s approaches to the problem regulation, the members of the association expressed their willingness to submit definite proposals in the future.
